YOUR LIVIT ADVENTURES BELL TENT

We really want all of our guests to feel at home in the bell tent.

We hope that you enjoy your stay at Livit Adventures, we didn’t want to leave you an extensive list of do’s and don’ts but there are some important things we need to tell you about your stay.

Your bell tent is a classic design proven over the years, so should be cosy, warm and robust in all weathers.  The tent is made from very robust canvas but please do take care when doing up the zips to avoid snagging and make sure the flaps are over the zip on the outside.

The tent comes provided with everything we think you need for your stay, please do let us know if anything isn’t working properly or you are unclear on how something works.

If the weather is wet please remove your boots before entering the tents to avoid getting the interiors muddy, and please don’t leave any indoor furniture outside during bad weather.

FIRE, WOOD BURNERS, FIRE PITS AND LAMPS

FIRE PITS AND BBQ (glamping only)

We have located the fire-pits a safe distance from the tents so please don’t be worried about building a good size fire in them.  They can also be used to cook over with cast iron pans (please do not use stainless steel pans over the fire-pits), we are happy to suggest a few recipes for campfire cooking to get you started.

Please supervise children very closely around the fires, use of the fire pits and gas stove is entirely at your own risk.

If you haven’t pre booked your logs and kindling they are available to purchase from the log shed and pay before departure.

The lanterns in the tent are LED so perfectly safe inside but please do not use paraffin lanterns, candles, naked flames or attempt to cook with any device inside the tents.

Tents are made from a fire retardant canvas and also equipped with fire extinguishers and smoke/carbon monoxide alarms.  Please also familiarise yourself with the fire plan document located in the welcome guide.

There is not smoking allowed inside any tent.

PETS…and CHILDREN

We hope that your dog enjoys his break as much as you do.  We would ask that you keep your dog off the bed, blankets and cushions if they are sleeping inside the tent.  Please do not leave your pet unattended at any time in the tent or field.

AROUND THE FARM

There are plenty of areas to explore on the property, we want everyone to have fun but if you have children or pets please supervise them at all times, there are steep drops, deep water and all the hazards found on a working farm.

It is a requirement of our planning permission that dogs are kept on the lead at all times as we are surrounded by farms which often have livestock in the meadows and our ducks wander free range. Dog mess must be picked up and placed in a tied off bag or in the dog waste bin.

Like lots of rural areas we do not have wifi.  Most mobile phone networks pick up 4G in spots around the farm. Should you need to connect to wifi there are several cafes that have free wifi in both Bideford and Westward Ho!.

TOILETS AND SHOWERS

The toilet system uses a septic tank.  As such please ensure that only waste and toilet roll is flushed away.  Anything else, including nappies, sanitary products or wipes will block the system.

Please try to leave the showers and toilets clean and tidy for the next guest.

LEAVING THE TENT

Please can you vacate your tent by 11am, leaving it clean and tidy ready for the next guests and ensure all of the washing up is done and the pots and pans located back in their original positions.

Please make sure you don’t forget to clean the BBQ grill and cast iron cookware as these often get overlooked, we can supply a stainless steel scourer for this purpose.

REFUSE AND RECYCLING

There is a bin in the kitchen for your convenience.  When full please can you tie-off the bag and leave in the general waste bin by the toilet facilities. Please make every effort to use our recycling system.

Please do not put anything in these bins that is not in a tied off bag as these bins have to be emptied by hand and bags taken to the end of the lane for collection

If you have any other refuse that is not in a bin bag please take away with you.

IN EMERGENCY

Please ensure you are familiar with the fire evacuation plan contained within each bell tent.

The nearest landline telephone is at the farmhouse, most mobile phones get good signal in the Livit Field.

Please dial 999 for Police, Fire or Ambulance services

In emergency please direct attending services to Westacott Farm, Abbotsham EX39 5BN
