Experiencing North Devon on Water

    If you have a passion or a yearning to get out on the water there’s no better place in the UK than in Devon! In North Devon alone you have some of the best surfing beaches in the country, wake parks, stunning places for outdoor yoga and plenty of golden sands to enjoy the water from the coastline.

    Here’s just some of the ways to experience North Devon on water:

    Some of the beaches in North Devon are fantastic surfing spots! Although the beaches welcome tourists you will find some great surfing beaches available at the right times of year. For the busier months you can enjoy a quieter time in the water early morning or later in the evening or even better visit during the cooler months when you’re likely to enjoy a whole beach to yourself! Woolacombe, Westward Ho!, Saunton Sands are just a few of those perfect for surfing no matter your ability level.

    In North Devon we are extremely lucky to have a fantastic water park right on our doorstep. The North Devon water park is made for wakeboarding in a group and they offer two forms of wakeboarding. The first is their straight line cables, which is perfect for first timers or for private lessons, the second is their full size cables offering slower or faster times for different abilities. The park also has an aqua park as well so you can enjoy some inflatable fun after your wakeboarding session.

    As well as the big blue stretching our miles of coastline we also have a number of lakes and calm flowing rivers in the North Devon area offering the perfect chance to enjoy a SUP session. Whether you are beginning and want to get the basics or an expert and are coming to enjoy the scenic routes there’s something for all.

    Because of our calm waters this unique class is one you definitely don’t want to miss during your visit to North Devon. Not only are you getting on a paddleboard and hitting the water, but enjoying a relaxing yoga session while you do so will leave you in a truly serene place on the water.

    Beaches

    We can’t count on two hands the number of fantastic beaches in North Devon – you’ll be spoilt for choice! From more well known ones like Westward Ho! and Saunton Sands to quieter spots like Instow and Barricane, you are sure to find a spot to enjoy the water from the shoreline.

    We couldn’t do a list of ways to enjoy the water in North Devon without mentioning open water swimming. The beaches are so clean in North Devon it’s one of the best spots to enjoy this sport.
